Founded in July 2007 by Joshua and Courtney Wilson, Escuela Caracol is located in the valley of San Marcos La Laguna in the department of Sololá, Guatemala. We receive support in the United States through the Atitlán Education Project, which is sponsored by United Charitable Programs, a US-based nonprofit.
The Atitlan Education Project is under United Charitable Programs (UCP), a registered 501c(3) public charity. All money raised by the Atitlan Education Project is sent to UCP and becomes the sole property of UCP which, for internal operating purposes, allocates the funds to the project.
